Carly was raised in Flora, Indiana, a small town in northern Indiana. She graduated with a BA in computer science and biochemistry from DePauw University, after which she attended medical school at Indiana University. While in college and medical school, she worked part-time as an EMT for small county ambulance service where she found her love for emergency medicine. After medical school, she stayed at Indiana for her EM residency and was a chief resident, graduating in 2012.
Before coming to UAMS she spent a year as an Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. While there, her residency activities included being faculty leader of their monthly journal club session and also a small group leader.
Carly’s interests include clinical research, evidence based medicine (EBM) and incorporating EBM into clinical practice, pediatrics, and simulation. She also enjoys cooking, gardening, sewing, and trying out new restaurants.
