Travis Eastin M.D., MSDr. Travis Eastin is the Chief of the Division of Education for UAMS EM and also serves as the Quality Officer for the EM Service Line.  Prior to these roles, he was the Residency Director from 2013-2019, during which time he was recognized as the UAMS Residency Educator of the Year.  Among other advancements, Travis oversaw the growth of the residency from 24 to 30 residents, the creation of the departmental education committee and resident committees, and the transition away from 12-hour resident ED shifts.

Born and raised in Iowa, Travis attended the University of Iowa before graduating with AOA honors from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2006. He completed his emergency medicine residency at Indiana University and then traveled to the University of Virginia to complete a fellowship in medical education. In 2012, he earned a Master’s degree in Medical Education Leadership from the University of New England. Prior to coming to UAMS, Dr. Eastin was an associate director of the EM residency at Ohio State, and in 2013, he received the Faculty Teacher of the Year award from the OSU EM residents.

Travis lives in Little Rock with his wife and fellow UAMS EM faculty member, Dr. Carly Eastin, their preschool-aged daughter and son, and two Boston terriers.  He spends his free time following the Iowa Hawkeyes, exploring the world of craft beer, and learning to braid his daughter’s hair.
